KNOXVILLE – Motorists traveling on State Route 113 in Jefferson County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will affect traffic.
Beginning on Monday, October 13, State Route 113 will be closed in both directions near the Leadvale Road intersection as crews begin work on a bridge replacement project. This complete closure will allow crews to work safely and efficiently.
Signage will be in place to direct motorists around the work zone. Northbound traffic on State Route 113 should take State Route 341 (Roy Messer Highway) to I-81 South and then to I-40 West. Southbound traffic on State Route 113 should take I-40 East to I-81 North and then to State Route 341 (Roy Messer Highway).
All work is expected to be complete by 6 a.m. on Monday, December 15.
This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
