Knoxville, TN (WOKI) A 19-year-old is arrested in connection to a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night in the Lonsdale area which seriously injures a pedestrian.
Knoxville Police Department officials say an investigation revealed that a a 37-year-old man had been hit by a speeding car while attempting to cross Minnesota Avenue at Heiskell Avenue. The car left the scene following the collision while the victim was transported to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
KPD says the suspect vehicle, a Nissan Versa, was identified through surveillance footage and license plate reader cameras and was later found to have damage consistent with the crash.
Police arrested 19-year-old Antwane Hartsell in Oak Ridge; he is charged with aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident.
