Knox County, TN (WOKI) – A man is charged after he allegedly shot at a truck after getting off of I-75 in Knox County.
WVLT News reporting officers responded to a reported road rage incident involving a firearm in the area of Callahan Drive and Old Callahan Drive Wednesday afternoon.
Officers found a red Jeep matching the suspect vehicle description and pulled it over in the 1300 block of Callahan Drive while responding to the scene.
67-year-old Charles Williams of Mascot told police there was a road rage incident involving himself and a Dodge pickup on I-75. He said the truck had been tailgating him but never hit his car.
Williams told police that after getting off the interstate, the driver of the truck threw an object later identified to be a tape measure at Williams’ car window. After this, Williams followed the truck to the intersection of Callahan Drive and Old Callahan Drive, got out of his car, pulled out a gun and fired one round at the truck. The truck then sped away down Old Callahan Drive.
Williams was taken into custody and charged with felony reckless endangerment involving a deadly weapon.
