Knoxville, TN (WOKI) Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation is beginning Phase Three of First Creek at Austin, the city’s first mixed-income, affordable housing community.
Phase Three will provide 161 new housing units, including 50 units for low-income seniors 62 and older. In total, the number of housing units has more than tripled, from 129 units at the time of redevelopment to 446.
First Creek at Austin is located on the former site of Austin Homes, which had been established in 1941 on nearly 23 acres just east of downtown.
KCDC will hold a ceremony on Tuesday, September 30 at 10:30 a.m. at First Creek at Austin, located near 1250 Elston Turner Drive.
