Hardin Valley, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – The Pavilion Farmer’s Market in Hardin Valley is closing, leaving the community with one less place to buy fresh, locally grown food.
Vendors say the market had become a key location for both farmers and customers. Jodie Moore, who operates Rebel Hollow Farm, said she built a strong customer base in the area over the years and has come to rely on the market as a steady outlet for her products.
While Moore plans to continue serving customers through deliveries and other markets, she expressed concern about what the closure means for local food access in Hardin Valley.
Community leaders say the closure highlights the importance of continued support for small farms and remaining farmers markets across the region. Knox County Farm Bureau President Pamela Stoutt said the loss is disappointing but also an opportunity for residents to rally behind other local options.
Organizers say they hope to bring the Hardin Valley market back in the future, but no timeline has been announced.
