Knox County, TN (WOKI) – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that injured three people, including a detective.
KCSO spokesperson Kimberly Glenn says a suspect was pulled over by an unmarked police car in a joint operation with the 313 Initiative.
When the suspect realizing the car was law enforcement, they fled from the scene and ran a red light before crashing into a KCSO narcotics vehicle that was moving into the area on McCalla Avenue.
The detective was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Additionally, the suspect and passenger involved were also injured but their conditions have not been released.
Charges are pending.
