Monroe County, TN (WOKI) – A controlled burn advisory for today in Monroe County.
Monroe County E-911 is advising residents of two controlled burns taking place today (Friday).
One at Fingerboard Road near the Polk County line which will be about 165 acres.
The other in the Coon Creek Area which mean Highway 411 in Madisonville could be affected by smoke. The burn area will be about 1,300 acres.
Burns will begin around noon and could continue until 8 p.m. tonight.
Possible increased aircraft activity in the area as well as fire personnel actively monitoring both sites.
