Knoxville – As part of its preparation for the May 5, 2026 Knox County Primary Elections, the Knox County Election Commission will conduct a required voting machine test. The details are as follows:
WHAT: PUBLIC VOTING MACHINE TEST
DATE: Tuesday, March 31, 2026
TIME: 8:30 am
LOCATION: Downtown West Early Voting/Training center
1645 Downtown West Boulevard, Knoxville, 37919
The purpose of the public machine test is to demonstrate to the public that the Election Commission has properly prepared equipment for the upcoming election, that said equipment is fully functional, and that the election logic and accuracy are sound.
In the presence of member(s) of the public, a representative precinct will be chosen at random from the list of active precincts in the upcoming election. The election equipment for that precinct will be pulled from the pool of prepared machines and brought to the testing site. The equipment will be set up, following the same procedures applicable to Election Day polling locations, and a test election will be performed.
This test will be approximately 60 to 90 minutes in duration. Candidates, the press, and the public are invited to attend.
