Monroe Co, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – A woman is charged after she allegedly posted a man’s arrest warrant that contained personal information to social media.
According to Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones, 48 year-old Emilee “Emma” Berger posted a copy of a man’s arrest warrant to a Facebook group that listed personal information, including his Social Security number, date of birth, driver’s license number and full name.
Detectives later spoke to the man, who said he did not give anyone permission to publish his personal information.
She told detectives she redacted the information after being notified by another person and reposted the warrant to social media. However, the following day, she created another post in the group acknowledging the warrant had been originally posted without the information being redacted.
Berger was charged with identity theft (trafficking) and taken into custody and posted a $3,000 bond and has been released from custody.
Jones says the investigation into how the document was accessed and distributed remains ongoing.
