KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – Buc-ees, the massive and massively popular gas station chain based out of Texas, has a poor rating with the Better Business Bureau. In fact, Buc-ee’s has flunked the BBB’s system, scoring an “F.”
The BBB cites a series of customer complaints, 88 in total, filed against the business. They center mostly on rude service and no way to get in touch with Buc-ees corporate.
“Consumers allege they are unable to contact the company as there are no phone numbers on the website,” the BBB’s review reads. “When they send a inquiry through the website, they go unanswered. Complaints and customer reviews also state, poor/rude customer service. When customers ask to speak to a manager, they are not empowered to address their issues.”
The BBB also includes a series of review summaries from customers, who complained about things like the quality of the food and interactions with staff.
“In more recent customer review, a consumer purchased a sandwich that had chucks of yellow fat,” one summary said. “While the manager stated they keep the fat for flavor, he did acknowledge that too much was kept. When the consumer requested a refund, he was told they are not authorized to offer a refund despite what some media stories have reported. He tried to file a request online but the website did not work and the phone number redirects you back to the website.”
The BBB also claims Buc-ees is not accredited with the agency.
