Knoxville, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – Knoxville Police say a teen has been charged with DUI after crashing into a home.
Officers responded to a home in the 1200 block of Texas Avenue after a car crashed into a home and left the scene. A 59-year-old man at the home was also hit and suffered “numerous severe non-life-threatening injuries” and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
KPD says the car was going east on Texas Avenue and hit a curb and utility pole before crashing into the home.
Officers found the car and a 17-year-old admitted to hitting the house and leaving the scene. He also told officers he had alcohol and THC before the crash. The teen was taken into custody on several charges, including DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
