KINGSPORT, Tenn. (story courtesy of WVLT) – The Kingsport Police Department said a Morristown man has been indicted in connection to the death of a toddler.
KPD said officers went to a home on Easton Vance – Kingsport Police Department on Oct. 21, 2024, where fire and EMS crews were trying to revive a 14-month-old boy who was unresponsive. The child was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
On Monday, KPD provided an update on the investigation, saying the Morristown man had indicted 20-year-old Easton Vance on the following:
- Three counts of first-degree murder
- One count of aggravated child neglect
- One count of aggravated child abuse
- One count of aggravated rape of a child
- One county of aggravated criminal trespass
KPD says Vance remains in custody at Sullivan County Jail.
