KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – With frigid temperatures forecast for East Tennessee, several warming centers across the area are opening.
Below is a list of warming centers that will be available Monday night into Tuesday. As more open or close, this list will be updated.
Blount County
The United Way of Blount County is offering warming centers. Specifically, the group said First Baptist Church of Maryville (202 W. Lamar Alexander Parkway) would be open starting at 6 p.m. Monday.
City of Knoxville
Several churches and nonprofits partner with the Office of Housing Stability to provide warming centers during cold temperatures. They open overnight when temperatures are forecast to be 25 degrees or lower.

The City of Knoxville said KAT buses would offer free rides to warming centers starting at 3 p.m.
City of Oak Ridge
Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church said it would be partnering with TORCH (Tennessee Out-Reach Center for Homeless) to open through Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. for those who need a warm place to stay.
The church is located at 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
