NEWPORT, Tenn. (WOKI / WVLT) – A former Cocke County High School Assistant Football and Wrestling Coach has been charged with statutory rape.
The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested and charged Francisco Garcia with six counts yesterday (Monday).
CCSO says the case involved a 16-year-old victim but did not identify them since they are a minor.
Cocke County High School says no charges are related to any case involving the student during school hours or school functions. He was suspended without pay on October 30th, then terminated December 4th.
Garcia was booked on a $300,000 bond.
