KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (Story courtesy of WVLT) – Rural Metro Fire says it is investigating the cause of a structure fire in South Knox County that sent one person to the hospital on Wednesday.
It happened around 5 p.m. in the 3200 block of Maryville Pike.
Rural Metro said crews arrived at the scene to find fire on the outside of a house that was spreading rapidly. Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly, leaving only smoke damage inside the house.
According to officials, one person who was inside at the time was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Crews also found multiple dogs inside and got them all out safely.
No other injuries were reported.
