Knoxville, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – A Knoxville Police Department officer is arrested in Sevier County after a “domestic altercation” involving a family member.
It happened this (Monday) morning, the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office took Adam Barnett into custody and KPD says he was off duty at the time. He is charged with aggravated domestic assault.
Adam Barnett joined KPD in 2011 and worked as a patrol officer in the East District of Knoxville.
KPD’s Office of Professional Standards is conducting an internal investigation. That investigation runs parallel to any criminal investigation.
Barnett has been reassigned until the internal investigation is finished.
