Knoxville, TN (WOKI) – A Detroit man has been indicted in the murders of 33-year-old Troy Hutchison and 25-year-old Rodrell Jeter, who were shot and killed on I-640 early on the morning of Sunday, November 16.
Last week, a Knox County grand jury returned a 17-count indictment on Dashonn Moten, 12/25/1997 of Detroit, Michigan. The charges against Moten include two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of felony murder. The charges also include one count of attempted first-degree murder for critically injuring a 22-year-old man in the shooting.
Moten was identified as the suspect following exhaustive investigation led by KPD Homicide Unit detectives, which included dozens of interviews and a review of cellphone records. Detectives also received multiple anonymous tips submitted through East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers that assisted the investigation.
Moten has no prior criminal history in Knox County and is no longer thought to be in Knoxville.
Currently, Moten is believed to be in the Detroit area, where efforts to locate him remain ongoing. KPD has requested U.S. Marshals Service assistance in locating and apprehending Moten.
Anyone with information concerning Moten’s whereabouts is asked to contact East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers anonymously at 865-215-7165. Tipsters can be eligible to receive a cash reward.
