Thousands of voters in the City of Knoxville went to the polls to cast their vote yesterday (Tuesday).
Among the key items on the ballot for Knoxvillians were five city council seats and whether or not to raise sales tax inside city limits.
In the City Council races, the projected winners are: Karyn Adams District 1; Nathan Honeycutt District 2; Doug Lloyd District 3; Matthew DeBardelaben District 4 and Denzel Grant District 6.
City of Knoxville Sales Tax Referendum – Shall the two and one-quarter percent (2.25%) local option sales tax rate currently levied throughout Knox County be increased to two and three-quarters percent (2.75%) in the City of Knoxville?
The results show this proposal failed.

Against almost 62%
