Oak Ridge, TN (WOKI / WVLT) – Now former School bus driver Matthew Bak is found not guilty of aggravated assault following an incident while students were on the bus.
The Anderson County Circuit Court says Bak was arrested on November 3, 2023 after being pulled over by the Oak Ridge Police Department.
A person following the bus called ORPD to complain that the bus stopped in the middle of the road twice without letting any students out and they could hear children yelling for help.
Court records claim bus driver refused to let the students off bus.
Bak appeared in court yesterday (Thursday) and was found not guilty of aggravated assault which could have carried a sentence of up to 15 years had he been found guilty.
