Knoxville, TN (WOKI) – A woman was shot and killed outside of a Washington Avenue apartment on Thursday afternoon.
At around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a shooting at 1900 Washington Avenue.
The preliminary investigation showed the woman was shot during a confrontation involving two other men. The woman was transported to the UT Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. One man was treated at the hospital for injuries sustained during the altercation.
Following the shooting, the suspect left the scene. At this time, the suspect is not in custody. Detectives are pursuing active leads.
The investigation is ongoing and being led by KPD’s Homicide Unit.
