Oak Ridge, TN (WOKI) A man charged in an Oak Ridge assault, is now facing a first-degree murder charge after he attacked his mother.
Oak Ridge Police Department officials say 34-year-old Jacob Yugo was originally charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence when officers responded to East Newkirk Lane around 4:00 p.m. on October 10.
“Upon arrival, officers located a female victim suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was transported to an area hospital,” ORPD Senior Communications Specialist Lauren Gray said in a news release. “The victim, Candace Yugo, succumbed to her injuries on the evening of October 15, 2025.”
Jacob Yugo remains in custody as an investigation into the incident continues.
