UPDATE 10/15/25: Knox Co, TN (WOKI/WVLT) – A Knoxville teen is facing charges after crashing his car into a Powell home causing it to partially collapse.
Rural Metro Fire responded to the crash late Monday night, saying the car went into the side of a home on Fieldstone Farms Lane.
The police report identified the driver as 18-year-old Jayden Ingersoll who admitted to police that he had been speeding.
Police say the teen was going 100 mph before crashing into the home located in a 30 mph zone.
Ingersoll has been charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and vandalism.
Officials say no one was injured in the crash, even though there was a person inside the house and two other passengers in the car.
Original Story: Knox County, TN (WOKI/WVLT) – Rural Metro Fire Crews are astonished there are no major injuries after a car crashes into a Powell home.
Rural Metro Public Information Officer Jeff Bagwell says that crews responded to a home on Fieldstone Farm Lane at Weaver Road last night and found heavy damage to the home and he says it is structurally unsafe.
Bagwell says the car was on Weaver when it left the road and struck the house, the car was destroyed and the driver suffered what appeared to be minor injuries.
People were inside the home at the time of the crash but were safely outside when fire crews arrived.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the crash.
