Knoxville, TN (WOKI) A fallen Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputy is set to be remembered next week with a memorial in his honor.
Knox County government officials Thursday inviting the public to attend the unveiling of the memorial for Deputy Tucker Blakely on Tuesday, October 14 at the corner of W. Emory Rd and Brickyard Rd. The unveiling is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
“The memorial stands as a tribute to Deputy Blakely’s courage, service, and lasting impact on the community he served with honor,” the county said.
Officials add that several leaders and community representatives will be in attendance to include
Mayor Glenn Jacobs, Sheriff Tom Spangler and Katarina Blakely, the deputy’s wife, among others.
Blakely was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call in the Solway area in October of 2023.
