UPDATE: Monroe County, TN (WOKI) – The Monroe County inmate, 28 year-old Cody Allen Patterson, who walked off the GlasMasters work detail, has been captured.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says Patterson had cut off his ankle monitor yesterday in the GlasMasters parking lot and stole a pickup truck to escape.
Patterson is now facing felony escape and theft of a motor vehicle charges.
Original Story: The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says an inmate, 28 year-old Cody Allen Patterson, assigned to the GlasMasters work detail walked off the job site.
During the investigation, officers with the Sweetwater Police Department and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office discovered that Patterson had cut off his ankle monitor in the GlasMasters parking lot. He then took a white 1998 Dodge Ram 3500 flatbed truck, with a Tennessee tag
Patterson is serving a 3-year sentence with approximately 8 and a half months remaining for vandalism, parole violation, violation of probation, and burglary, stemming from a previous incident in which he stole a coin box from a car wash.
Patterson is now wanted for felony escape and theft of a motor vehicle.
