Knoxville, TN (WOKI) A Knoxville woman is arrested after she allegedly hit a seven-year-old child twice in a parking lot.
According to court records, police officers went to the Kroger on Chapman Highway Saturday after receiving a report of a woman hitting a child. Two witnesses told police they saw 29-year-old Loren Whaley “drag” the child into a car and hit him in the face twice with a closed fist.
At first the child said he had a nosebleed and after being hesitant to answer if he had been hit, he pointed to the right side of his face, which was visibly red, court records indicate.
Additionally, the child had dried blood on his shorts and leg and a red mark on his arm.
Whaley was taken into custody and charged with felony child abuse.
