Knoxville, TN (WOKI) A man convicted of attempted first-degree murder after shooting at a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper is now facing more charges.
On January 12, troopers saw Eugenio Abraham Solis-Klarks driving 97 mph on I-75 North in Loudon County.
During a high speed multi-county pursuit, Solis-Klarks lost control and crashed. He then retrieved an assault rifle from his car and aimed it at one of the troopers who exchanged gunfire with the suspect. Solis-Klarks was hit in the legs.
He has now been indicted in federal court for possessing a firearm as an illegal alien.
Solis-Klarks is scheduled to appear back in federal court in December. He is facing a possible 15-year prison sentence and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
