A beloved chancellor at the University of Tennessee and house organist at the Tennessee Theatre has died.
Dr. William “Bill” Snyder passed away yesterday (Tuesday) at the age of 93.
UT System President Randy Boyd says Snyder’s leadership and dedication to the university shaped its institution in many ways.
In addition to his work with the university, Snyder was best known in East Tennessee as the house organist at the Tennessee Theatre, where be began to play the Mighty Wurlitzer in 1975.
