Knoxville Police are investigating a fatal crash on Alcoa Highway.
Officers responded to Alcoa Highway near Woodson Drive Saturday morning to investigate a crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer. The driver of the car, an adult woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed that the car was going south in the northbound lanes of Alcoa Highway when it struck the tractor-trailer head on.
The cause of the crash does remain under investigation.
