A man is facing a second-degree murder charge following a deadly stabbing in East Knoxville.
27-year-old Trevon Blair is charged in Friday afternoon’s stabbing at a home on Ben Hur Avenue.
Knoxville Police were called to the area of Kenner Avenue and Olive Street, where a woman who had sustained numerous stab wounds was found unresponsive. The victim was taken to the hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.
The crime scene was located at a home in the 300 block of Ben Hur Avenue and a witness provided a possible suspect description.
Officers detained Blair a short distance from the scene of the stabbing on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.
Blair is the son of the victim, he was questioned by detectives and charges are pending.
The circumstances that led to the stabbing are unclear and the investigation remains ongoing.
