Knoxville, TN (WOKI) A home is uninhabitable but not a total loss following a house fire Monday morning in northwest Knoxville.
It happened just before 9:00 a.m. right off Clifton Road, south of Western Avenue.
Knoxville Fire Department officials say the fire started in the kitchen, mostly stayed in that part of the home, but the heat, water and smoke damaged much of the residence.

Nine people lived in the home, and everyone was able to evacuate.
KFD reports the home did not have a working smoke detector, adding that the fire could have been a whole lot worse.
