No Charges Pending in Gatlinburg Crash that Injured Several People, Preliminary Report Says

Gatlinburg, TN (WOKI) There are no charges pending in the Gatlinburg crash that left several people injured at the beginning of the month.

That, according to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol which further outlines what happened on June 1 when a minivan “accelerated unexpectedly” in the 700 block of Parkway, struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk and then collided with several vehicles.

According to the report, a white Chrysler minivan was traveling south on the parkway when it increased its speed, moving through a crosswalk and hitting a pedestrian.

The minivan subsequently crossed over one lane and hit a maroon GMC truck. The truck then hit a sign on the side of the road, causing it to collapse and hit another pedestrian.

From there, the report indicates, the minivan crossed into the northbound lanes of the parkway and hit an SUV. That SUV then hit another minivan and a Jeep SUV.

In its report THP confirms that a “medical emergency” contributed to the crash and that no charges are pending.
