Man Found Dead Near Abandoned Car in Cocke County, Investigation Underway

Cocke County, TN (WOKI) An investigation is underway in Cocke County after a man’s body is found Monday near an abandoned car.

Officials with the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office say deputies were called out around 4:30 p.m. to the 3000 block of Messer Branch Road because a car was blocking the roadway.

CCSO says deputies found the car and the body of David Shaub, who was in a wooded area nearby; his body was sent away for an autopsy.

The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, are investigating.
