Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs Endorsing a Tennessee Senator for Governor

Although no official announcement has been made, Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs is endorsing Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn for Tennessee Governor, if she decides to run.

It’s a surprising update, especially as rumors circulated that Jacobs himself was eyeing a run at governor.

The announcement came via Jacobs’ X account. He says Senator Blackburn has done an outstanding job as a state senator, U.S. congresswoman, and U.S. Senator and would do an equally outstanding job as Governor.

Blackburn has served in the U.S. Senate since 2019, representing Tennessee’s seventh congressional district. She recently won reelection in her seat, beating out Democrat Gloria Johnson, who currently serves at the state level.
