A Man is Convicted in Deadly Knoxville Standoff

Knox County District Attorney General Charme Allen says a man has been convicted in a death during a standoff with Knoxville Police.

76-year-old John Deloach reportedly pulled a revolver during an argument, killing a bystander in May of 2023. He barricaded himself in a Wilderness Road home, prompting a standoff with KPD.

He was convicted of Second Degree Murder among other charges.

Second Degree Murder carries a punishment between fifteen and twenty-five years in prison without the possibility of parole.
