GENERAL ADMISSION – FREE

General admission to the Smoky Mountain Air Show is FREE and does not require a ticket for entry.  However, there is NO SEATING provided. Please plan to bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Don’t want to carry around a chair? Learn more about premium viewing opportunities here.

PARKING PASSES – $75

Parking passes can be purchased here. You only need to purchase one parking pass per vehicle. Parking passes are good for ONE DAY ONLYParking locations will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking staff will direct you to your parking spot upon entry. The GPS address to the parking area entrance will be listed on your parking pass.

Additional information to consider:

  • ARRIVE EARLY and expect traffic delays. Parking areas open at 7:00am. Air show gates open at 8:00am.
  • No shuttle service is provided from air show parking areas.
  • Parking areas are located in uneven and grassy terrain, similar to festival parking.
  • Average walk time to air show grounds: 30 minutes.
  • Parking areas cannot accommodate accessible parking. Accessible passes are available separately.

Parking passes are valid for a vehicle size of 14 passengers or less. Bringing a large group in a bus? Contact us at smairshow@tys.org for information about the designated drop-off location.


ACCESSIBLE (ADA) PARKING PASSES

Accessible Parking Passes can be reserved here. The Accessible Parking Lots are located on the TN Air National Guard Base and are paved lots. The GPS address to the parking area entrance will be listed on your parking pass. This lots will offer fully-accessible shuttles to the air show site. In order to park in these designated lots, you must present an accessible parking pass, and your vehicle must display an official, current Disabled Person License Plate and/or Placard. Parking passes in these lots are very limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.


RESERVED SEATING – $75 (per person)

Reserved Seating tickets offer individual seats along the air show flight line. With this purchase, you can pre-select your seating location based on availability. This ticket includes access to separate portable restrooms, shaded areas, and designated concessions.

Reserved Seating tickets are good for ONE DAY ONLY. To access this area, each person must have a ticket.

Children four and under are free and are considered a lap child. However, if you would like a seat for your child, a Reserved Seating ticket is required.

Note: Parking passes are not included with the purchase of Reserved Seating tickets.


FLIGHT LINE CLUB SEATING – $350 for Table of 2/ $700 for Table of 4

Flight Line Club Seating is for the air show attendee looking for the ultimate Smoky Mountain Air Show experience! This area will be in a prime location on the flight line and provide individual seating for one of the best views of the show.

Your ticket will include:

  • Reserved Table and Chairs
  • Snacks and Lunch
  • Non-Alcoholic Beverages (alcoholic beverages available for additional purchase.)
  • Shaded Dining Areas
  • Separate Portable Restrooms

Children four and under are free and are considered a lap child. However, if you would like a seat for your child, a Flight Line Club Seating ticket is required.

Parking Rules and Regulations – ONE DAY ACCESS ONLY


OFFICIAL RULES: This ticket is a revocable license. The holder, on behalf of the holder and any persons accompanying the holder, including minors (individually and collective, the “Holder”), agrees to all of the terms herein. By using this ticket and entering the venue, the Holder agrees to be bound by all of the terms and licenses. The holder, in consideration for receiving the license to enter the air show venue, voluntarily assumes any risk of personal injury of damage to property associated with such access to the venue and attendance at the Air Show. In addition, holder hereby releases and discharges the agencies producing the Air Show, namely the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority and the Tennessee Air National Guard, from any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained by the holder at the Air Show, including, without limitation, noise damage, damage from falling objects or damage from falling droplets of fuel, lubricants or airplane exhaust. The Holder grants permission to use the Holder’s image, likeness, actions and statements in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication or reproduction made of, or at the Event in any medium or context for commercial or promotional purposes without further authorization or compensation. The Holder and the Holder’s belongings may be searched upon entry into the venue, and the Holder consents to such searches and waives any related claims that might arise. If the Holder elects not to consent to those searches, the Holder will be denied entry into the venue. This license may be revoked for violation of venue rules, illegal activity, misconduct, or failure to comply with any and all security measures. Performers are subject to change or cancellation. Inclement weather conditions and other conditions beyond the producers of the Air Show control may cause delays or cancellations. Event times are subject to change without notice. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS EVEN IF THE AIR SHOW IS CANCELLED. NO EXCHANGES.

Where is the air show?

The Smoky Mountain Air Show will be held on the Tennessee Air National Guard Base on the north side of the McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville, TN.

TRAFFIC WILL BE HEAVY GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE SHOW. We suggest arriving early to avoid missing any performances.

How much does it cost to attend the Air Show?

How much is parking?
A one-day parking pass for either Saturday or Sunday is $75 per vehicle. 

Where is parking?
Parking areas are located in fields near Wrights Ferry Road and Airbase Road. Follow event signage to the parking areas, and once you are in the lot, parking staff will direct you where to park.

Will shuttles be provided?

There are no shuttles provided to and from the parking areas. However, once you clear the air show security checkpoint, shuttles will be provided to take you to from there to the air show grounds. 

Is accessible parking available?

What happens if I can’t find my ticket?

Tickets are sent to your email address at the time of purchase. You may need to check any junk or spam folders you have. If you need your tickets resent to you, please click here or contact AttendStar at 865-243-3639.

Are children free?

If purchasing premium seating tickets, children four and under are free and are considered a lap child. However, if you would like a specific seat for your child, a ticket is required in those areas.

Can I get a refund or exchange?

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. There will be no refunds or exchanges, even if the air show is cancelled. NO REFUNDS EVEN IF THE AIR SHOW IS CANCELLED.

Can I drive a motorcycle to the show?

Yes, but you will still need a parking pass.

Can I drive a RV to the show and camp?

No.

Is tailgating allowed?
No.

What is the Premium Viewing Experience?
There are two options for premium viewing experience tickets available for both Saturday and Sunday. Reserved Seating is $75 per person and guarantees you a reserved seat on the flight line to watch the Air Show events. Flight Line Club tickets are $350 for a Table for 2 or $700 for Table for 4. This includes a table and seats for the Air Show, VIP restrooms, a lunch and snacks. You must still purchase a parking pass in addition to the upgraded experience tickets. Visit the website for purchase.

Is the show the same each day?
The aerial acts and static displays will be the same on Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.

What if it rains?
Inclement weather conditions and other conditions beyond the producers of the Smoky Mountain Air Show’s control may cause delays or cancellations.

What non-profit organization benefits from the Air Show?
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley and Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee.

Who is performing other than the US Navy’s Blue Angels?

If I live in the area, will I be able to watch the show from my house?
The Blue Angels design their show around a center point. The airport is the show center, so all aerial displays are designed to be best viewed from the airport. You may be able to see the planes, but you won’t get the full experience unless you attend.

Can I bring my own chair?
You are permitted to bring a folding chair. All items will go through a security check upon entry.

I am a veteran, in the reserves, or work on base. Can I park for free?
Please contact the TN Air National Guard Base for information at (865) 336-3205.

Do I need an ID?
No ID is required to gain entry; however, all Tennessee laws still apply, and you must have a valid ID for the purchase of alcohol.

Can I take pictures or get autographs?
Yes. The Blue Angels allocate time for meeting fans, but access will be limited.

Can I leave to go to my car and come back?

Yes. However, all attendees will have to go through the security screening station before  re-entry. 

What time does the show start? What’s the show schedule?

The aerial show will begin at approximately 12:00pm. Air show gates will open at 8:00am and the ground show will be available then.

Planning Tips for the Smoky Mountain Air Show:

  • Families should agree on a meeting place for everyone before, during and after the show.
  • An information booth will be on site with maps, schedules, and other information.
  • ALL outside food and drink is prohibited, except for baby-related items.
  • Concessions will be set up on site with food and beverage for purchase.
  • Bring cash for food and beverage concessions.
  • Lawn chairs or blankets are permitted, but all items will be screened at security.
  • Portable restrooms will be available in several areas.
  • The parking lots open at 7 a.m. and Air Show entry begins at 8 a.m.
  • Smoking (which includes vaping) will only be allowed in designated smoking areas.
  • Make sure to bring your purchased parking pass to the event.
  • Parking will be crowded. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for parking.
  • All attendees and accompanied items will go through a security inspection upon entrance to the Air Show.
