Additional charges are filed against a woman in McMinn County already facing numerous charges related to sexual encounters with minors.
McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy says 38 year-old Melissa Blair has now been indicted on additional charges which were added as nine new victims are identified. That brings the total to 18 victims. The McMinn County Grand Jury met yesterday (Tuesday) and indicted Blair with a total of 20 counts of sexual abuse charges.
Some of the charges include 6 counts of Aggravated Statutory Rape, Solicitation of a Minor and
Solicitation of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor by Electronic Means and 5 counts of Patronizing Prostitution
The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services received a referral in December of last year that alerted them of Blair having sexual encounters with male students at McMinn Central High School.
All of these incidents happened from spring of 2020 through late 2021. At the times, all of the victims were between the ages of 15 and 17. The investigation revealed Blair reportedly had talked with the victims on social media, arranged to meet with them and traded “items for sexual encounters.”
The Director of McMinn County Schools served Blair a letter, banning her from all McMinn County school properties or any school activities. This ban remains in effect with the new charges.
