Police say charges are pending in an early morning accident involving a school bus.
Authorities say the driver of a Jeep ran a red light on South Gay Street at West Church Avenue and struck the school bus causing it to hit a building. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. No children were on board at the bus at the time of the crash.
Knox County Schools say another bus would pick up students and didn’t anticipate any delays getting students to school.

According to early reports, it happened around 6 a.m. and police say there are injuries. According to a spokesperson from Knox County Schools, no children were on the bus at the time because it happened before its scheduled work for KCS.
