Knoxville Police Declare the Case of Missing Desheena Kyle as a Possible Homicide and Name Her Boyfriend a Person of Interest

More than three months after her disappearance, the Knoxville Police Department are declaring the Desheena Kyle case a possible homicide and named her boyfriend a person of interest.

Desheena Kyle was reported missing from her apartment at 1307 Wilson Road on June 28 by her grandmother. She has not been seen or heard from her since June 23.

Authorities say they decided to treat the case as a possible homicide based on the lack of sightings, the longer amount of time that has passed without contact with friends or family, and other factors.

Kyle was in a relationship with 29 year-old John Bassett at the time of her disappearance,, who was once charged with domestic assault.
Kyle is approximately 5′3 and 130 pounds. If anyone sees Kyle, they are urged to call 9-1-1 immediately. Anyone with information is asked to call east tennessee valley crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
