The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office held a briefing Thursday to update the community on the missing 5-year-old Summer Wells. The TBI says new information has led to growing concerns about the child’s wellbeing.
“Everybody is a person of interest until we find Summer,” said Lawson. “That’s why we are doing the ground searches and aerial searches. Finding Summer is first and foremost.”
So far the biggest roadblock to the search has been the communication between the land and air search.
“Radio communication between ground crews and also aerial aviation has been very difficult due to the state of our radio communications at this time,” said a TBI spokesperson. “For ground crew operations we’re having to use between four and six different radio channels to make sure that everyone is accounted for.”
Summer Wells has been missing since Tuesday.
