Knoxville Man Charged With Providing Gun to Anthony Thomson Jr.

A Knoxville man has been arrested on charges of purchasing a gun for Anthony Thompson Jr., the student who was fatally shot in an officer involved shooting at Austin East Magnet High school. The purchased gun is the firearm that Thompson had and fired when he was shot by police.

Kelvin Foster, 21, is alleged of going to Harvey’s Pistol & Pawn with Thompson Jr. a week prior to the officer involved shooting. After walking around the pawn shop together, Thompson left the store at which point Foster allegedly purchased the gun. Foster met up with Thompson later in the day and exchanged the gun for cash and marijuana.

Foster is also facing charges of making false statements in connection with the purchase of a firearm.
