Tennessee is moving into phase 1c of Covid-19 vaccination. Phase 1c includes 16 or older with a high risk health conditions such as high blood pressure, obesity and pregnancy.
In Knox County, those who qualify will be able to sign up on the wait list beginning Monday, March 8 at 8:30 am.
Charity Menefee of the Knox County Health Department says that people will not need to prove they have a preexisting condition in order to join the wait list in Knox County though.
“Folks are just able to register and it’s on the honor system for people to classify themselves appropriately,” explained Menefee.
Menefee also reported that at this time, Knox County is expected to stick with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines and will not be receiving any of the new Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
