Gov. Lee Announces Proposal to Look Into Foreign Investment on College Campuses

Governor Bill Lee announced today that his administration is proposing the transparency in foreign investment act to look into foreign influences on Tennessee college campuses.

Lee’s proposal takes direct aim at Confucius Institutes which is a Chinese- based program used in many US Universities. In his announcement, Lee called Confucius and other programs like it, “propaganda.”

Lee’s proposal would investigate all foreign investment on college campuses.
