A man from Newport has been arrested for a DUI while driving a lawnmower.
According to police, an officer pulled over a man riding a John Deer lawnmower around 2:30 am Tuesday. The officer reported that the man smelled of alcohol and said he was riding the lawnmower in order to go to the store and buy more beer.
The man admitted to already have been drinking earlier in the night. After failing a field sobriety test, he was arrested.
