Knoxville Police investigating a fatal shooting in East Knoxville.
The shooting happened last (Tuesday) night at 2561 Selma Avenue near Cherry Street. When police arrived they found a 15-year-old girl and Austin-East Magnet High School student, suffering from at least one gunshot. Officers rendered aid until EMS personnel arrived and transported her to the hospital where she later died. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Violent Crimes Unit.
