The Burglary Suspect in an Officer-Involved Shooting is Identified

The suspect shot by a Knox County Sheriff’s office deputy is identified.

23-year-old Solyman Murray was shot by the deputy during a burglary call on the 6700-block of Central Avenue Pike. Agents with the TBI say one of the three suspects ran into the business’ bathroom, and another ran out the door. Deputies ordered Murray to come out. Murray reportedly reached for a gun in his waistband. KCSO says a deputy then shot him once. Murray was taken University of Tennessee Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury. Deputies arrested the two other suspects shortly after.
