Proposed Bill Would Add Dolly Parton Statue to State Capitol

Representative John Mark Windle (D-Livingston) introduced a bill to the Tennessee state house that would add a statue of Dolly Parton to the Capitol Grounds in Nashville.

House Bill 135 states “the state capitol commission, at regularly scheduled meetings, shall develop and implement a plan for the commissioning of a statue of Dolly Parton, to recognize her for all that she has contributed to this state.”

If the statue is approved, the plan is to place the statue on the Capitol grounds facing in the direction of the Ryman Auditorium.
