A mask mandate went into effect in Roane County Monday morning.
In a statement, Roane County executive Ron Woody said “I hope the community will take this order without causing more divisions among our citizens. I hope no law enforcement will be needed due to this order.”
Woody cited a recent rise in Covid-19 cases in Roane County as his reason for instituting a mask mandate.
