On October 30th, one of Zoo Knoxville’s Malayan tigers had tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the same virus that causes COVID-19 in humans.
Zoo Knoxville announced today that the tiger that tested positive along with two others that exhibited symptoms have been released from quarantine.
Arya, a 6-year-old female and Bashir and Tanvir, 11-year-old males, are no longer showing symptoms of the virus after being cared for by the veterinary team from the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine.
No other animals at Zoo Knoxville have shown signs of illness.
