Knoxville Police is working to notify next of kin after a fatal crash on I-40 Sunday night.
Witnesses say the vehicle was traveling in the left lane of I-40 west near the Pellissippi Parkway when a second car tried to merge into the lane.
The first car swerved to miss the other vehicle and over corrected, rolling the car. A woman driving the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was not injured.
