The University of Tennessee reports declining Covid-19 case counts again on Friday. The case count peaked on Sunday and has been declining ever since according to Chancellor Donde Plowman.
“Cases have been dropping every day since they peaked on Sunday,” said the chancellor. “We like the look of that line.”
Dr. Spencer Gregg of the Student Health Center was not as encouraged by the down tick in cases. Instead, he expressed his opinion as to why the cases are declining.
Gregg believes “fewer people are being tested. With fewer people being tested, we are unable to identify those who are infected and others who are their close contacts.”
The University reports 412 total active cases as of Friday, down from 680 on Sunday. No hospitalizations or deaths of UT students have been reported.
